McDonald's-USHLI Series of Student Leadership Summits Continues in New York, NY
McDonald's and USHLI continued its 2014 series of Student Leadership Summits in New York, NY. The event, held at George Washington Educational Campus, was attended by approximately 1,100 students, teachers and counselors.

The event featured two nationally prominent motivational speakers, Carlos Ojeda and Ernesto Mejia from CoolSpeak, and a Career and College Recruitment Fair.  The Career and College Recruitment Fair featured a Study Lounge sponsored by McDonald's, where students received useful information on scholarships and preparing for college. Seventeen (17) recruiters representing post-secondary institutions at every level participated.

Ms. Ana Madan, a local McDonald's owner/operator, addressed the students as well. USHLI is very grateful to the local leadership for its assistance and to McDonald's for its generous sponsorship of this series of Student Leadership Summits.  Complimentary apple slices and yogurt were served.

The SLS is USHLI's flagship youth program. The program is designed to motivate students to improve their academic performance, graduate and pursue some level of post-secondary education. An estimated 75,515 have been served to date this year in 13 states.
