McDonald's-USHLI Series of Student Leadership Summits Continues in Massachusetts

McDonald's-USHLI Series of
Student Leadership Summits Continues in Massachusetts
McDonald's and USHLI continued its 2014 series of Student Leadership Summits in Lawrence, MA.  The event, held at Lawrence High School, was attended by approximately 600 students, teachers and counselors.

The event featured two nationally prominent motivational speakers, Carlos Ojeda and Ernesto Mejia from CoolSpeak. The summit featured a study lounge sponsored by McDonald's where students received useful information on scholarships and preparing for college.  Complimentary apple slices and water were served.

Karina Gonzalez, a Boston Region Financial Analyst from McDonald's, addressed the students as well. USHLI is very grateful to Richard Gorham, English Department Chair at Lawrence High School and his colleagues for their leadership and invaluable assistance, and to McDonald's for its generous sponsorship of this series of Student Leadership Summits.

The SLS is USHLI's flagship youth program.  The program is designed to motivate students to improve their academic performance, graduate and pursue some level of post-secondary education.  An estimated 73,115 have been served to date this year in 11 states.
