An estimated
7,835
students and educators attended USHLI Student Leadership Series (SLS) events
held in Jersey City and Passaic, New Jersey. USHLI is very
grateful for the leadership and cooperation provided by administrators at
each high school and middle school that hosted an event.
The featured
speaker was The Cuban Guy, one of the top motivational speakers in the nation
and a favorite among students of all ages from middle school to college.
The SLS is
USHLI's flagship youth program. Our goal in 2014 is to serve 200,000
students, parents, and educators in 30 states and help Create a Culture of Education.
The program is designed to motivate students to improve their academic
performance, graduate and pursue some level of post-secondary
education. An estimated 43,136
have been served to date this year in 8
states.
The SLS program
focuses on Stay-in-School
Rallies for middle school students, Career & College
Recruitment Fairs for high school students, Regional Leadership Summits for
college students, Leadership
Training for parents and Professional Development for
educators.
