Over 700 Students and Educators Attend Encuentro in Kansas
An estimated 722 students and educators attended a USHLI Student Leadership Series (SLS) events in Manhattan, KS.  The event was organized and hosted by the Office of Multicultural Programs and Services at Kansas State University directed by Mirta Chavez. USHLI is very grateful for the opportunity to bring the SLS to students representing 24 schools from throughout the state of Kansas.

The event featured nationally prominent motivational speaker, Gabe Salazar, who is a favorite among students of all ages from middle school to college.

The SLS is USHLI's flagship youth program. The program is designed to motivate students to improve their academic performance, graduate and pursue some level of post-secondary education.  An estimated 88,485 have been served to date this year in 16 states.
