Univision Executive Vice President Roberto Llamas to Address Educational Achievement Luncheon
Mr. Roberto Llamas, Univision Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources & Community Empowerment Officer, will be a guest speaker at the Educational Achievement Luncheon. The luncheon will be a main event at the 33rd USHLI National Conference, which will be held February 12-15, at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers. Over 6,000 present and future leaders representing 40 states are expected to attend.
Mr. Llamas will address the Educational Achievement Luncheon at 1:15pm on Friday, February 13. Twenty graduating seniors and college students will receive the Dr. Juan Andrade Scholarship for Young Hispanic Leaders at the luncheon.
Mr. Llamas joined Univision in March 2011 and has led efforts to improve the Company's organization and human resources performance. Key initiatives he has championed include enhancing organization and leadership productivity, optimizing resource allocation, and implementing robust programs for leadership and talent development, community access and empowerment, and improving education and health.
Prior to Univision, Mr. Llamas was at Nielsen where he served as Chief Human Resources Officer for the Consumer Research Company with 35,000 employees in 100 countries. He also served as Chief Administrative Officer for The Cleveland Clinic, a top rated health care institution with 45,000 employees. He formerly was the chief Human Resources officer for Lehman Brothers, a Corporate Officer at General Electric, and held senior leadership positions at TRW and Southern California Edison.
Mr. Llamas earned a bachelor's degree from California Polytechnic University and a master's degree in organizational development from Pepperdine University. He was named one of "100 Most Influential" by Hispanic Business Magazine in 2009, one of the "Most Powerful/Influential Latinos in Entertainment" by The Image Foundation in 2008 and 2011, and "Top 10 Lideres" by Hispanic Executive Magazine in 2012.
