Approximately 9,800 Students and Educators Attend Student Leadership Series Events in California

An estimated 9,805 students and educators attended USHLI Student Leadership Series (SLS) events in Santa Ana, CA. The series of events, organized in conjunction with the Orange County Department of Education and the Santa Ana Independent School District, was co-sponsored by Southern California Edison.   The events featured nationally prominent motivational speakers, Gabe Salazar and Roy Juarez, Jr., who are very popular among students of all ages from middle school to college.    The SLS is USHLI's flagship youth program. The program is designed to motivate students to improve their academic performance, graduate and pursue some level of post-secondary education. An estimated 102,747 have been served to date this year in 17 states.
