Nearly 250 Students, Parents and Educators Attend Student Leadership Series Events in North Carolina

An estimated 245 students, parents and educators attended USHLI Student Leadership Series (SLS) events held in Hendersonville, NC at Blue Ridge Community College and in Lenoir, NC at Kinston-Lenoir Public Library. USHLI is very grateful for the leadership and cooperation provided by the Migrant Education Program and the ESL Department in both counties. The events featured Andres Lara, The Cuban Guy, a nationally prominent motivational speaker who is a favorite among students of all ages from middle school to college.      Motivational Keynote for Migrant/ESL Students The SLS is USHLI's flagship youth program.The program is designed to motivate students to improve their academic performance, graduate and pursue some level of post-secondary education.  An estimated 78,786 have been served to date this year in 15 states.  Click HERE to see a one-minute video featuring SLS highlights from 2013.
