Dr. Juan Andrade Addresses Leaders in Lansing, Michigan

USHLI President, Dr. Juan Andrade, addressed civic and community leaders as well as clergy, academicians, and students attending the 16th Annual Hispanic Heritage Month Celebration and 19th Annual César E. Chavez Commemorative Dinner in Lansing, MI. The Heritage Month Celebration and Commemorative Dinner was organized by the Hispanic/Latino Commission of Michigan, led by its Executive Director Mary Lou Mason and Board Chair Gil Guzman.  About the organizers Dr. Andrade said, "Mary Lou Mason is the longest serving and most respected executive director of a Hispanic/Latino commission in the nation.  I know them all and can say that without qualification.  She is one of USHLI's strongest and most influential allies and it has been a privilege to have her guidance and advice on our work in the Latino community throughout the state of Michigan." Leadership awards and scholarships were also presented at the event.  It was a pleasure to participate in this great event and fantastic program.
